Minutes - October 7, 2009
The meeting was opened by President Ken Simmons at 1930.
Approval of the September 2, 2009 minutes as e-mailed to the members was motioned Dave C. and 2nd by Lynn H. The motion carried.
Treasure's Report: Bob A.
- Balance in the account $2582.50.
- It was noted three new members were added to our club.

A motion to accept the Treasure's Report was made by David C. and 2nd by Dale C. The motion carried.
Old Business:
- Committee Report:
- Safety: Jerry H. Jr. - No reports of violations.
- Lawn Care: - David C. - Winterizing in progress. David said that next Tuesday, October 13 will be a work day to winterize. Start at noon. Call Dave if you can help.
- Flight Simulator Status: Richard P. and one at the field shed. The one in the shed needs to be brought to the hobby shop for the winter. Anyone can do it. Thanks.
- Road Repair Project: David C. Project Manager - Dave said the contractor is waiting for his grader to be returned, he will then start the work so Corvettes and Cadillacs can make it down safely.
- Open House Report, Sept. 26 - It was a great success. Over 50 people were there during the day.
- Many club members were on hand to help.
- Visitors built seven gliders, but it was too windy to fly them.
- Richard P. buddy-boxed six kids and six adults. It was a long day for Dick but no crashes.
- The same amount were trained on the flight simulator.
- All the visitors were given club apps. and the information sheet about the club.
- The visitors were treated to see many different kinds of planes and helo's flying and a combat demo.
- The swap meet took in $17 profit to the club.
- Report Combat Meet, Sept. 5 - Richard P. MC'd the meet and did a great job Bob A. came in 4th, good job Bob.
New Business:
- Indoor Flying
- May start in November.
- Ken S. is looking to use the Fruitland new elementary school gym. He will report to on that. Our 2nd choice is the Ontario (old) Jr. High gym.
- December meeting, Christmas Party, and Officer Installation will be on Saturday, December 5, 7-10 PM. The clubs officers will be the same as 2009. No one else had a burning desire to run for an office. It was mentioned that all the 2009 Officers did a great job. Most improved Officer was Jerry Jr. in Safety, both personal and corporate.
- Other New Business:
- David C. said he would like to start a monthly news letter. He said he would welcome news imput and pictures to report on.
- Jerry H. Sr. mentioned the field shed needs a good cleaning and straightening up. Jerry J. said it should be done in the Spring clean up.
- Lynn H. asked about the Frozen Finger Fly on the 1st of January. Everbody wants to do it. It will be scheduled on the 1st, to start at 1000. Lynn H. is the Director, but he will need help. He plans to be there about 0900 to set up. Call him if you can help. He will have hot chili, a hot fire etc. The charge will $5 for each participant. Qualification for receipt of the covenanted Polar Bear Certificate is a successful take off, flight and landing (on the ground, Bob, trees don't count, Lynn says).
- Next meeting - November 4, 2009, at the hobby shop.
