Minutes - May 7, 2008

The meeting was opened by President Bob A. at 1925.

Treasurer's Report:

  1. $970.50 on hand.
  2. Reimbursement for $95 for purchase of repair parts for sprinklers was submitted by Bob A.

Minutes for the April 2, 2008 meeting. A motion was made by Chet C. and 2nd by Dave C. to accept the minutes as e-mailed to the members. The motion carried.

Old Business:

  1. Last Saturday an irregation water start and final repair and adjustment day was conducted at the flying field. About 15 members were on hand to repair and adjust the water system and sprinklers. About 20 sprinklers were replaced or repaired and about 30 were adjusted. There are nearly 100 sprinklers on the field operated by an automatic system. David C. conducted an excellent orientation class on the operation of the entire system.
  2. The clubs flight simulators are in the possission of: Jeff D. and Carl G.
  3. R/C Swap Meet. More discussion was held concerning the meet. The date will Sept. or Oct. at the Ontario Middle School (old) Gym. More to come later.
  4. Operation Matterhorn. Lynn H. has developed a route for the cross country flight. It will start at Willow Lane off Halliday Road, west of the field. There will be 5 minute intervals between take offs. Near the end of the flight balloon busting events will need to be done before landing. The planes will need to expect at least 20 minutes of flight time from take off to landing. Breakfast will served. Start time will be 8 AM. More to follow.
New Business:
  1. Combat Meet, Saturday, May 10. Need volunteers to help. Jerry H. Jr. to arrange for a M.C. (Lloyd C. was suggested). Jerry J. will insure the PA system is working. Chet C. is in charge of operations. Registration 9AM, Start 10 AM. Open and scale classes.
  2. Pylon race, Saturday, May 24. Jerry H. Jr. in charge of operations. Registration 9AM, Start 10 AM.
  3. Lawn mower. A new fire extinguisher is needed. Dave C. will get one.
  4. 1st Aid Kit in the frequency box at the field needs replacing. Bob A. will do it.

Next SRVM Club meeting: June 4, 2008, 1930.
