Old Business:
- Committee Report:
- Safety - Jerry H.Jr. - Jerry reported that there were no reportable issues, but recommended that when flying in the gym with Bob A. it might be advisable to wear hard hats.
- Weed Control - Bob M. reported that the weed retardent has been applied and that it is safe to use the field. He also said that we should budget at least $500-600 a year for this to be done. The work is guaranteed and it will give us a clean site. Leveling work on the road will be done during the week of March 8th. It is estimated at $700. Bob also said he has gotten pills for the gophers to do'em in. Alumin Oxide. Jerry J. said he has purchased the gopher guns and bait.
- Flight Simulator Status: Daniel Mclay and Scott P.
- February 20 Fun Fly Report: Jerry H.Sr. and Jerry H.Jr. - It was well attended. We had visitors from the Indoor Flyers club in Nampa. They flew and assisted in the event. We had 10 flyers in both fixed wing and rotary wing. The winners were as follows:
| | Fixed Wing | Rotary Wing |
| 1st place | Jerry H. Jr. | Jerry H. Jr. |
| 2nd place | Tom Cole | Randy C. |
| 3rd place | Daniel Mc. | Ken S. |
It was a great success and we plan to have another Fun Fly on Saturday, March 20 starting at Noon at the Ontario Middle School Cub gym. The entry fee for pilots will be $5. Plaques will be given. The event will be a comprehensive pylon race only, with double elimination and multible heats. There will be two classes of aircraft, Ember and Open. We need volunteer helpers and spotters so ye all come ye hear, enjoy and help. It will be exciting. There will be open flying afterward.
New Business:
- The Flying Field gate lock combo will be changed on April 1st. Ken S. will e-mail to confirm the actual deed.
- The Ontario Air Faire in September is being planned at the Ontario A/P again. The date will be September 11. Ken S. said that he is going to contact the Faire board about our doing a combat demo again. Our Combat meet on that date has been changed to September 4.
- IMAC Compition is Scheduled in Twin Falls for May 15 and 16.
- There will a Treasure Valley Pattern Contest, BARKS Field on May 15 and 16.
- Othello Heli Fly In, Tri-Cities, WA on May 14 -16.
- AMA Charter/Insurance/SRVM Club policy - Ken S.: Much discussion and information was shared regarding the above subject. One of the main inquiries was the Why of belonging to AMA. Two main reasons surfaced: 1. They provide insurance coverage protection for our field and other AMA/SRVM Club sanctioned events, both at the field and in the gym. 2. That our lease with the Bureau of Reclamation requires insurance to be covered. So it was restated that anyone flying at the field or the gym must be a current paid SRVM Club member and AMA member. There are some exceptions to this regarding visitors etc. If you have any questions contact President Ken Simmons.
- Other new business:
- Ken S. has updated a new club member roster which is available by contacting him.
- Jerry H. Sr. presented an opportunity for kids from 14 -18 to go to an aviation camp. Starts on July 5-10 in Cascade. It includes hands on flying four of those days with all kinds of other exciting activities. Contact Jerry Haines Sr. if you are interested, 889-3704.
- A motion to adjourn was made by Dale C. and 2nd by Jerry H.Jr. The motion carried.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jerry Haines, Sr.
Secretary
