Minutes - July 6, 2011

The meeting was opened by President Ken Simmons at 1945.

Visitor Kevin Mayo was introduced to the members by Jerry H. Jr. Kevin is an R/C helicopter pilot. He is planning to join the club and AMA. He is looking forward to learning to fly fixed wing aircraft.

Approval of the May 4, 2011 minutes as e-mailed to the members was motioned by Dave C. and 2nd by Bob A. The motion carried. The June meeting was cancelled.

Treasurer's Report: The report was tabled until the August club meeting.

Old Business:

1. Committee Report:
   1. Safety - Jerry H. Jr. - No voilations reported. Dave C. cautioned the members to observe Murphy's Law, that if it can go wrong, it will. When flying safely but approaching possible unsafe limits don't do it. Something may go wrong mechanically or an operator error, causing damage or injury. Always leave large room for safety.
   2. Lawn Care - Dave C. - Dave reported that the lawns are in good shape and the water supply and sprinklers are working well. The runway is in need of weed maintenance. Dave is and has done an outstanding job in overseeing the lawn etc and deserves our appreciation and help when needed.
2. Flight Simulator - Jerry H. Jr. and at the Oregon Trail Hobbies.
3. Pylon Race - The postponed May Pylon Race will be held on Saturday, July 16. Registration 9AM, start 10AM. Two classes will be considered: Park sized, slower planes 2 lbs or less and the next class larger faster planes, over 2 lbs. ( no racing or combat type planes). Three place plaques for each class will be awarded to the winners. Helpers are needed to help administer this exciting event. Helpers are asked to arrive at 9AM to help set up. Thanks.
4. Gravity Hobby Fun Fly - Cancelled.
