Minutes - January 7, 2009

The meeting was opened by President Ken Simmons at 1930.

Ken welcomed visitor Chuck Stiles. Chuck is from Montana just moved to Fruitland. He has four RC's and is a beginning flyer. He is retired from the insurance business. He was in sales management.

Approval for the minutes of November 5 and December 6, 2008 as e-mailed to SRVM member was motioned by Earl D. and 2nd by Scott P. The motion carried.

Treasurer's Report: Bob A.

1. Balance in check book $1301.70.
2. Profit from the Polar Bear event as reported by Lynn H. was $38.
3. The sale of Dean B. planes is $570 so far. Dean donated the proceeds to the club. A plaque for Dean is being prepared under the supervision of Ken S.
4. The combo to the airfield gate lock will be changed on March 1 and will be given to those who are current in their 2009 dues.
5. A motion was made to accept the Treasurers report by Jerry Jr. and 2nd by Scott P. The motion carried.

1. Committee Report:
   1. Weed Control: David C. assisted Bob M. Everything is OK.
   2. Safety: Jerry H. Jr.: No violations.
2. Flight Simulator: Wayne L. and Jerry J. are in possession.
3. Club dues for 2009:
   1. $60 single member
   2. $72 family
   3. $12 junior (under 18)
4. Polar Bear event report was made by e-mail from Lynn H. 15 flyers qualified and received Polar Bear Certificates. Two were from other clubs. Delicious chile was served along with hot chocolate. The day was beautifully sunny. Lynn did a great job of setting up the event and administrating. The flyers were as follows: Lynn H. Dave C. Ken S. Jerry H.Jr. Rex Sperry Jack Read Todd H. 5. Power Transmission Line: Bob M. Bob indicated that there is a lot of local controversy and high level public meetings in progress. Bob will continue to keep us informed.

1. Web site update - Ken S. has taken over the maintaining of our web site from Jon B.
2. Member contact information - Ken S. Ken is working on a new roster to send to members.
3. 2009 Event Planning meeting. A date was set for members to meet at the new mexican restraunt at Gay Junction on Saturday, January 10, at noon to plan events for this year.
4. Other new business:
   1. Handicap requirements at the field: No contact from the Feds as yet.
   2. The field bulletin board needs to be updated and maintained with info about the club, officers names and phone numbers etc.
5. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Dale C. and 2nd by Jerry H. Jr. The meeting was adjourned.
