SNAKE RIVER VALLEY MODELERS

Minutes - February 6, 2008

The meeting was opened by Bob A. at 1930.

A motion was made by Dale C. and 2nd by Richard P. to accept the minutes of December 8, 2007 as e-mailed. The motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:
1. $544.87 on hand.
2. Membership dues to SRVM paid for 2008 by 22 members.
3. Steve B. reminded the club that even when the remainder of the members pay their dues that we should have a larger amount on hand for emergency expenses. The members discussed the issue suggesting we could have fund raisers and even charge for events. Jerry J. stated that we had several large expenses in 2007 which accounted for the lower bank balance.

Old Business:

1. A report on the Polar Bear Fly was given by Bob A. It was highly successful. About eleven members qualifing for the Polar Bear Flying Certificate.
2. A report on the fire at the field was given by Jerry J. It was put out by members called in. There was no damage to facilities.
3. A report on the Annual Scheduling meeting was given by Bob A. The following items and events are scheduled and the list was motioned to be accepted by Marshall D. and 2nd by Richard P. The motion carried:
A. March 29 - Open House at the field.
B. April 5 - Field clean up day (Alt. day April 10).
C. April 19 - Sprinkler maintenance and water start up. Need member help and to be trained on operation of the system.
D. May 10 - Open Combat Meet - Chet C. Organizer.
E. May 23 - Elect. Combat, pylon race and fun force - Jerry H. Jr. Organizer - Dale C. to provide posts and flags.
F. June 28 - Open Fun Fly - beginners and pro's - Jerry H.Jr. Organizer with Richard P. & Todd H. assisting.
G. July 26 - Elect/nitro Cross Country Flight - Lynn H. Organizer & Richard P.
H. August 23 - Open Fun Fly - Jerry H. Jr. Organizer.
I. Sept. 13 - Ontario Air Show - Displays needed.
J. Sept. 20 - Open House at the field.
K. Dec. 6 - SRVM Christmas Party.
(Note in addition monthly club meeting held on the 1st Wed. of each month also Wednesday evenings are still designated as a special time to fly at the field)

New Business:
1. Bob A. discussed the Bureau of Reclamation & Club Renewal Permit. The signing has been delayed by a need to have the BOR inspect the field.
2. Indoor flying at OMS gym scheduled for Feb. 16 & 23 & March 8 & 15.
3. Jerry J. discussed AMA requirement for club instructors to be designated. They will be Jerry J., Jon B. & Cal C.
4. A doctor donated R/C parts to the club to be sold at 50% of cost or less. Proceeds to go to the clubs treasury. Call or e-mail Jerry J. for info.
5. Mower maintenance log has been created and will be used at the field.
6. SRVM application form needs to be updated. Steve B. will do it.
7. A motion to adjourn was made be Steve B. and 2nd by Jon B. The motion carried at 2045.

After the official meeting the following presentations where heard:
A. Bob A & Ken S. on the Sumo indoor planes.
B. Richard P. on his P-40 60 scale plane. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship. He will fly it soon.
C. Jerry H. Jr. on his flying boat. An amazing craft & 3 d capable at low cost.
