Minutes - April 2, 2008

The meeting was opened by President Bob A. at 1930.

New member introduced: Jeff Daescleer - Fruitland - seasoned RC pilot was welcomed by the members.

Treasurer's Report:

  1. $711.87 on hand.
  2. A motion was made by David C and 2nd by Steve B. to accept the Treasurer's report. The motion carried.

Minutes for the March 5, 2008. A motion was made by David C. and 2nd by Earl D. to accept the minutes as e-mailed to the members. The motion carried.

Old Business:

  1. The flying field gate lock combination has been changed. It is available only to paid-up dues members.
  2. Event - Operation Matterhorn (Hump) Cross Country Fly In: A draft brochure for the event will be available for discussion at the club's May meeting. Jerry H. Jr. & Bob A.
  3. AMA 2008 Charter and Insurance Certificate has been received.
  4. Flying field grass mowing: A special thanks to Cal C. and others for work on the new mower. It was mentioned that we got a great buy on the mower. A task force is to be formed for developing an SOP for the mower and mowing operations. Bob A. directed.
  5. The SRVM Club Roster has been updated. (Steve B.)
  6. USBR Flying Field lease renewal inspection is done. SRVM is waiting now for USBR to send the official findings and the work to be done to bring the field up to handicap use requirements
New Business:
  1. Flying field clean-up day to be done Saturday, April 5, starting about 10AM. Jerry J. to be project director.
  2. Flying field irrigation water start day pending. Scott Fawcett to notify SRVM when water is available.
  3. Real flight Simulator - Bob A. directed that a procedure be followed that will allow members to check out and use it at home for a maximum of 30 days. At the end of the 30 days the user is to contact Bob A. that the simulator is available. A record of current users will be kept in the monthly minutes and mentioned during the meetings as a point of record. Currently Carl G and Jerry H. Jr are signed out, effective April 2. It would be appropriate if the users would bring the simulators to the club meeting for turn in and for others to use for the next month.
  4. R/C Swap Meet: Jon B. suggested the club have have a swap meet. A discussion was held regarding an area wide swap meet sponsored by SRVM. Bob A. said that it might be held at the Ontario Middle School Gym (old). Possibly in September or October. Details to be formulated later.
